This article also completely disregards the reasons why gay and trans kids are more vulnerable to abusive situations and wind up on the streets or involved in sex work. Things like the stigma of their sexuality or being disowned by their families and kicked out of their homes as teens. These same things happen to young straight women's without money, families or support systems. There will always be predictors that prey on the vulnerable. Gay teens happen to be a vulnerable population (especially 10-50 years ago) because of the way they are outcast by their families.
